Tiffany & Co. + Cinemagraphs

Last night at Tiffany & Co. we unveiled a series of Cinemagraphs made to capture the warm beauty of the Tiffany 1837 Collection in RUBEDO metal. I hope you have the opportunity to see our collaboration on display at Tiffany & Co.’s Fifth Avenue flagship store on Saturday from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m!

Tiffany & Co. + Cinemagraphs

In honor of its 175th anniversary, Tiffany & Co. launches RUBEDO, a new jeweler’s metal that radiates with the warm tones of first morning light.

As one of my greatest honors and quite literally a dream come true, Tiffany & Co. commissioned a series of Cinemagraphs unveiling today in the flagship store on New York’s 5th avenue for this unbelievably beautiful new collection. The Tiffany 1837 RUBEDO metal is the first such creation in Tiffany’s history to marry the richness of gold, the brilliance of silver and the warmth of copper which was a pleasure to bring to life in our Cinemagraphic way. The quietness of sunlight, the warm shine of a new metal, and a start of a new day with RUBEDO.

Here are handful of photographs from our moment together inspired by peace and beauty while bathed in quiet light…

What’s in a name? RUBEDO, in the medieval philosophy of alchemy, was the title of the very highest achievement, when in matter and spirit fused to create something of rare beauty.

Location, Location, Location

For many of the shoots we do they are typically “on location”. I love this. I love discovering a new place, being inspired by the way it makes you feel and letting that be a part of the difiniation of what you are there to create. The first thing I do when I come to a new space is to watch the light. I spend a day with the location and watch it… live, if you will. I photograph it quiet and empty so that I may better begin to write the song we need to sing.

These are my behind the scenes test shots with the location for our recent commissioned Cinemagraph shoot for Tiffany & Co’s 1837 Collection in RUBEDO metal~
