The Presentations

I love getting up close to the clothes to see the magical little details that are so fleeting on the runway. Here are 4 presentations I stopped by at NYFW:

Nonoo

This adorable British designer, Misha Nonoo, was inspired by a childhood trip to Havana, Cuba with its crumbling facades and faded colors from the relentless sun.

Playful, fun and flirty. Designer Stacey Bendet’s concept for this season’s collection was “going back to the American dream.”

Above: Stacey designed two MAGNUM mini-skirts named “classic” and “almond” with her inspiration from the new MAGNUM Mini Ice Cream bars. Both mini skirts will retail for $396 and will be available in all alice + olivia stores as well as online at aliceandolivia.com starting next week.

Creative Director Deobrah Lloyd took inspiration from Ormond Gigli’s “Girls in Windows” when approaching this season’s collection which like aways is a color swatch of happy.

Below: Wes Gordon

A bit more serious, Gordon on his muse: “A woman who’s powerful, alluring and feminine, but at the same time dark and sinister.”
