Tranquil Escape

This past weekend was my birthday and I was really looking for a lot of peace and quiet, something totally different from the hustle and bustle of city life. We found ourselves at our first Aman experience out in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Amangani to be exact. Aman Resorts all around the world were first introduced to us by our manager who described it as life changing, like nothing else in the world, saying you can never travel the same after it…and now I know exactly what she meant.

We spent the mornings and night in the hot tub overlooking the Teton mountains. We awoke on Sunday morning to view a blanket of falling snow out of the floor-to-ceiling windows our bed faced. We had wine by the fire every night and left the Indian flute music playing as we ate breakfast and read the New York Times in our suite. We went skiing everyday, tumbing together down the mountain in fits of laughter and finding the day’s biggest accomplishment landing both jumps on our last run. We DIED over the food at Snake River Grill in downtown Jackson Hole and on my birthday I tried elk for the first time.

Traveling has a way of healing your soul…and we need it most around birthday time.

  1. Happy belated birthday, Jamie! May this year bring you so many more opportunities and lots and lots of love and happiness 🙂 Keep doing what you do! ALSO… these are just beautiful, organic photos. What a treat it may be to have a bath with a view like that 🙂

      1. Jamie – did not know you were from Fort Worth, knew you were Texas. Just happy to know you are a fellow texan. My husband and i had the pleasure to spend the wknd in Cherokee TX at a private music festival. As we were driving there from Houston, we were in awe that Texas had such beautiful landscapes. Usually we travel to Louisiana, not such a pretty drive.
Again- you and kevin inspire me.
        Have a wonderful memorial wknd.
        your fan in tx.
