Seeing New York

As a photographer I show you the world through my lens on a daily basis. We all look at New York, she demands our focused attention. I’ve been thinking about the art of looking. The importance of focusing and what we see. This past March I bought a pair of Giorgio Armani frames in Geneva, classic per usual, and I decided to put them in front of the frame. To see what I see.

To show you a day in New York through my lens

One Night Only

For one night only

On that night, we celebrated Giorgio Armani and his special relationship with the city of New York – one that spans several years of creativity, economy, and philanthropy.

In addition to the exhibition Eccentrico, to celebrate this great fashion legend models graced the catwalk  wearing pieces from the Giorgio Armani Privé collections running from 2005 to present day, fashion in the utmost of glamour. Hosted at SuperPier, which had been partially custom-designed just for the event, the show was breathtaking and such an inspiring reminder of the talent we were honoring.

Giorgio Armani said, “A great show presenting my Haute Couture collections to the American public for the first time is my way of saying thank you. I’m looking forward to spending a memorable evening surrounded by the many friends I have made there over the years.”

And what a wonderful night it was…

Giorgio Armani’s Eccentrico

Eccentrico… an exhibit of the unbelievable clothes and accessories of Giorgio Armani, but more than that, it is a voyage through his imagination, through the mind which designed all of these stunning creations before us.

The exhibition features a selection of pieces from the Giorgio Armani and Giorgio Armani Privé collections, including jewelry, shoes, fragrances, and other beautifully crafted accessories. Having traveled to Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Rome, Eccentrico now finds its home in New York, a city which Armani is excited to return to after a four year absence, saying, “I like America and the American people. Whenever I return, they show their admiration and affection toward me with incredible enthusiasm…this comforts and reassure me. It encourages me to continue working with fantasy and commitment.” The exhibition will be open to the public October 25th to 27th from 10 am to 8 pm.

As we walked through the exhibition during #onenightonlynyc, I was amazed by how Armani celebrates the artistic shape of women while allowing them to become fantastical pieces of art themselves…it’s no wonder that on his return to New York City, this is the story Giorgio Armani wishes to tell.

Come join us on the journey into Armani’s fashion fantasy…

SISTERS

There’s something magical and mystical about sisterhood…an indescribable bond forged by late night secrets, sharing dreams, and unconditional love and support. Sisters share a beautiful, sublime understanding and strength.

What better way to celebrate sisterhood than make dreamy, romantic pictures with the incredible sister duo behind Dannijo? Danielle and Jodie Snyder, pictured here in twenties-inspired pastel Armani, have been creative cohorts since they were young, but in the last five years have created a jewelry making business that has soared among celebs and citizens alike. It’s easy to see how sisterhood plays into their success: they clearly value each other and are incredibly close…they even live in apartments one floor apart!

Growing up, I always wished for a sister – someone with whom I could share secrets and giggles late into the night, someone upon whom I could lean when times got tough,  someone who could see the dreams I had and help me build them into reality. In the last few years, life has given me the closest thing – my great friend and collaborator, Kelly Framel. Never before had I met someone whose ideas and dreams so closely aligned with my own, and who wanted to stay up late, laughing, drinking champagne, and planning for our future achievements. Kelly has become the sister I never had.

After all, remember, sisters make the best friends in the world.
